We are a Christian congregation that unites people of diverse backgrounds by sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ, growing in faith and nurturing each other for life and service. Members of the Chris Church Chapel have a passion for Education and Service throughout the world. Whether you are new to Uyo, a resident or visiting the city, we hope you will join us for covenant service on the last Wednesday of every month and daily devotion at the grounds of the Palace of Learning every morning by 7.30am on Mondays to Fridays. Christ Church Chapel is principally a teaching ministry. We are committed to teaching the truth of the word of God in an uncompromising way and making it freely available to all. By the mercy of God, Prof. Aniekan Offiong, supported by his wife, Mrs. Janet Offiong, presides over Christ Church Chapel. God has given him the grace to write messages on different topics, some which are published on this site. He has a special ministry for youths, teaching them the way of the Lord to fulfill God’s purpose for their lives. Some of the messages are published in this site. Mrs. Janet Aniekan Offiong as a special ministry for children. Some of her bible study outlines used for children are published on this site.

Christ Church Chapel is located on the first floor of the Palace of Learning at the main campus of the Deltona International Schools at 210/212 Calabar Itu Highway, Urua Ekpa Junction, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria.

About us

We are a community that values the welcome of Christ we ourselves have received. Christ Church Chapel came into existence in June 26, 2015 when Prof. Aniekan Offiong and wife Mrs. Janet Aniekan Offiong joined hearts with other adults who were committed to seeing the gospel of Jesus Christ heal broken lives to open a chapel in the newly established Deltona International Schools. The five hundred seat school auditorium was elevated to a chapel, the school anthem was extended to end with “in the service of God thou will ever be” and the school became a Christian School. At the 2023 founders day celebration of the Deltona International School held on June 26, 2023, the school board approved that the mandate of the Christ Church Chapel be extended to cover the host community. On September 2023, Bro. Ubong Akpan joined the Aniekan Offiong family in contacting 500 households in Uyo with invitation to the first Covenant Service extended beyond the school community. The September 13, 2023 Covenant Service saw 200 people in worship - 50 adults and 150 students. Suddenly an amazing opportunity in the field of Christian Education was discovered. In collaboration with International Research and Development Institute and the Christian community, Christ Church Chapel is planning build the Christ Church Cathedral in the Deltona International School headquarters at a site adjacent to the palace of learning. The cathedral will host the community of faith named the Evangelical Lutheran Mission. The Christ Church Chapel continues to bless the community of Deltona International Schools, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, and all of Nigeria. In 2024 we plan to open new chapel at Deltona International School Offiong House. Christ Church Chapel has always been a community of people from different background committed to seeing the gospel of Jesus Christ heal broken lives and while at the same time providing a world class Christian Education at affordable lost. People come from around the world to Uyo and find the light of Christ at Christ Church Chapel. Being part of something that happens by chance or luck. It is our Lord who has called us here, to grow in His grace and shine His light. Who else could put us together as a church.

Our Beliefs

Christ Church Chapel finds its identity and hope in Jesus Christ and its energy and focus from the word of God. We can summarize our beliefs under faith, grace, scripture, and Christ alone. As members of broader Christian family, we confess the Apostles, Nicene, and Athanasian Creeds as well the rest of the Christian confessions. We believe in
Alone: Our personal connection to God’s world and His grace is established by faith alone which trusts his words as a faithful guide in this life and clings to the assurance of our future life with God in heaven.
Grace Alone: Our relationships with God and each other rest on Grace Alone, God’s extravagant and overflowing love for the world and forgiveness He has provided by the death and resurrection of Jesus.
Scripture Alone: Our teaching about God and Christian faith are taken from scripture alone, not from denominational councils, Ecclesiastical leaders or Congregational vote. The living Christ and His Salvation are revealed in the Bible.
Christ Alone: First “Christ Alone” is the only way man can enter heaven. There is no reconciliation except through him. Secondly, “Christ Alone” Jesus’ life, death and resurrection are whooly sufficient to secure our salvation.
Baptism: Baptism is not just water, but it is water connected with word and promise of God. Jesus himself promised “He who believes and baptized will be save”. We believe in baptism. Baptism is the means through which God works. If you come to Christ Church Chapel from and have already been baptized in the Christian faith, we share in living out your baptismal identify. If you and your children have not been baptized, talk to our chaplain.
The Lord’s Supper: In Holy Communion, also known as The Lord’s Supper, God connects individual believes to the sacrifice and death of Jesus. If you are a baptize believer in Christ and have been instructed in our confession that Jesus offers his body and blood in the forms of bread and wine for your forgiveness, you are to participate as often as you can. If you and your children have not receive first communion, talk to our chaplain.

  Prof. Aniekan Offiong, President of the Christ Church Chapel is a devoted Christian of Lutheran heritage. Prof. Aniekan Offiong has been in the Deltona International Schools since 2014. He demonstrates excellent leadership qualities and helps nurture the students of the school into developing their leadership potential in line with the school motto “Learning and Leadership”. Prof. Aniekan Offiong is a born trans-generational leader who showcases goodliness and excellence wherever he goes and in whatever he does. He has a passion to see a changed Nigeria and through Deltona International School is raising a generation of young Godly people who will. As the President and Founder of the International Research and Development Institute he has been interest in the advancement of scholarship, the growth of our country and betterment of her leadership. Prof. Aniekan Offiong is happily married to his heartrob, Mrs. Janet Aniekan Offiong. They got married on December 18, 1999 and they are blessed with six children – Jacqueline Datimfon, Josephine Dianabasi, Alexander Abasiodion, Emmanuel Sinende, Emmanuella Daramfonabasi, and Anita Anietienteabasi. Prof. Aniekan Offiong is the author of three motivational books which are used in teaching moral education at the Deltona International Schools. The power of the Dream, Living the Dream and Dream come True. Prof. Aniekan remains an epitome of vast knowledge, a man of humility, integrity and a multi-facet leader.

  Bro. Ubong Akpan, Chaplain of the Christ Church Chapel is a devoted Christian and member of the Victory Chapel University of Uyo. Bro. Ubong has been in the Deltona International Schools since 2016. Presently is the principal of Deltona International Secondary School. As principal of the Deltona International School is committed to raising a generational of young Nigerians with values that will contribute positively to the development of Nigeria. He believes strongly in the school motto “Learning and Leadership”.
